It looks like mobile providers like AT&T and T-Mobile are moving away from the "free phone just sign a contract" business model. "Device Subsidies" as they are called are no longer an efffective business model according AT&T CEO Randall Stevenson. According to CNET : "Last week, AT&T introduced a new pricing plan that offers an incentive to customers who keep their older phones, allowing them to save $15 a month on their service bill." Is this the new wave?
