Alan Levy, Chairman and co-founder of Xchange Telecom, a NYC based communications company that is building a hi-speed broadband data network in Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan. Prior to Xchange, Alan was President and COO of Destia Communications, a global communications company that was sold in December 1999 for $1BN. Alan is also the Chairman and founder of BlogTalkRadio, the largest online talk radio network, which is the home of tens of thousands of radio talk shows.
Rachel Haot, Chief Digital Officer and Deputy Secretary for Technology of New York State as part of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's Executive Chamber since January 2014. Her role is to develop digital products, programs, and policies that modernize New York State, with a mission to increase efficiency, make government more accessible, and better serve residents' needs. In its first year, her team delivered a comprehensive, service-focused overhaul and relaunch of www.ny.gov, the first update in 15 years.
Erik Grimmelmann, Ph.D, is the President and CEO of the New York Technology Council (NYTECH). He has been active in the technology community for over thirty years. He worked at Bell Laboratories as a researcher and systems engineer, on the business side of AT&T where he served as AT&T's Internet strategist, and as a Senior Vice president of Dun & Bradstreet. For the past twelve years he has been involved with a variety of startups including Cometa Networks and Send Word Now.
Cyna Alderman is the Managing Director of the Daily News Innovation Lab, a program launched at the Daily News in September 2013 with a mission to transform media together. She has also been the Company’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel since 2007. The Innovation Lab offers early-stage startups the opportunity to collaborate with the Daily News on projects that address media industry needs. The Innovation Lab also hosts Conversations, a bi-monthly event series that brings together members of the tech and business communities to discuss the changing media landscape.
Our host is Ben Chapman from the NY Daily News. Ben Chapman is an award-winning reporter who covers education for the New York Daily News. A graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism whose work has also been published in the Washington Post and the New York Times, Chapman has written nearly 2,000 articles about New York City schools since joining the paper in 2009.
The event takes place at CitiField on May 13th, the breakfast starts at 8:00am and the trade show at 10. There will be several hundred exhibitors and even more attendees. It is free to walk through the expo
