VP Records is an independent record label, located in Queens, New York. It is best known for releasing music by Jamaican artists. The company started in 1979 and has gone on to become the world's biggest reggae and Caribbean music label and distributor.

Readers will be exposed to the traits of successful Caribbean American leaders; the challenges they encountered after migration; strategies they used to overcome the challenges; and the factors that most influenced their success. Narratives of their journey are explored as well as investigation to determine whether the challenges are common to other ethnic groups with similar issues. Join us as we embark on this journey - to those areas that youths and individuals in transition can take to become successful in their lives
